God As The Life-Giving Spirit!

“Last night was our last Fellowship Night of the semester! I was impressed that Jesus is described as One ‘who for the joy set before Him endured the cross’ (Hebrews 12:2). When the Lord died, it was for joy! So what did He see that caused this joy? Well, last night we saw that one part of the joy is that following His death in His resurrection, He ‘became a life-giving Spirit’ (1 Cor. 15:45). God has always had a desire to get into man, and through the process of becoming a man, living a human life, dying on the cross, and resurrecting to become a life-giving Spirit, He is now able to get into whomever is willing to receive Him. Moreover, our experience of the Spirit begins when we pray to receive the Lord, but it does not stop there! Actually, in the New Testament, there are over 140 different functions of the Spirit! I am just so thankful that God went through the process that He did, and now He can be experienced in so many ways as the life-giving Spirit.”
