TWO'S AND THREE'S

"For where there are two or three gathered into My name, there am I in their midst."
Matthew 18:20
"Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor; for if they fall, the one will lift up his companion [...] and a threefold cord is not quickly broken."
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10a, 12b

Consistently throughout the Bible, there is the mentioning of God's people coming together in units of especially two and also three. As members in the Body of Christ, it's impossible to be related to EVERY member across time and space, so the Lord has placed us near very specific members with whom we can be related. Just as our hands are not directly attached to our feet or our eyes, but are attached to our wrist and our forearms, so we each have a few members around which we are meant to be attached.

During my freshman year, I got to know one of my spiritual companions by meeting up with him a couple of times a week. It set the foundation for my Christian pursuit during college.

To this day, I still pray with a student I met in the club here. We can request prayer from one another at any time, in any place. It's nice to know that I always have someone to turn to, even if we're on opposite coasts.
The appointments I had with a staff member rescued my Christian life. Without a doubt, I would not be here without those times.

At Christians on Campus, we endeavor to practice getting together in units of two and three, especially as we get busier during the semester. It's a great way to stay connected, to develop a support system, and, ultimately, to sustain our Christian pursuit while we are here in school.

Two's and Three's are great if:

- you're too busy to make it to any larger Christian gatherings

- you want something with more flexibility

- you want spiritual companions

- you want some personal mentoring or guidance

If any of these sound like you, then this is for you!
