This college conference, I saw that to prepare for the Lord’s return, we need to consider our attitude toward His coming. 2 Timothy 4:8 says, “Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, with which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will recompense me in that day, and not only me but also all those who have loved His appearing.” We should be those who love His appearing! I really appreciated hearing portions of the testimony of sister M.E. Barber, who lived in the 20th century. I was so impressed that she lived in expectation of the Lord’s coming. She waited actively. Even on New Year’s Eve, she still felt that the Lord could come that year. How much we need this kind of expectation! When we have this kind of expectation, our priorities will change. May the Lord grant us such an expectation for His second coming!
