Matthew 9:17 “...but they put new wine into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved.” Whenever I came across this verse in my Bible reading, I never really knew what it meant. But this past fellowship night gave me a clear understanding and a fresh seeing that Christ is the new wine and we, the church, are the fresh wineskins. We are made to be filled with Christ as the new wine. I appreciated the example of calling on the name of the Lord as one easy way to be filled with Christ. Whenever and wherever we are, whether we’re in the valleys or in the mountains, studying for midterms or stuck in an elevator, we can call “Oh Lord Jesus!” and He as the new wine will fill us with joy, life, and peace.
