No Longer Strangers and Sojourners

Updated: Apr 9, 2021

Praise the Lord for a new semester! When I first applied to Berkeley last year, the thought of a pandemic shutting everything down never crossed my mind. But then it happened, and it kind of diminished my excitement of coming here since I wouldn’t be able to get the “full” experience of Berkeley. I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to meet many other believers here on campus, especially since my time here is already short as it is (I’m a transfer student). Thankfully though, I can now say that I’ve found what I was looking for here with Christians on Campus! I particularly appreciated being reminded of a verse during our Welcome Night: “So then you are no longer strangers and sojourners, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God” (Ephesians 2:19). Even though outwardly I’m still missing out on many things here at Berkeley, I was really comforted that even in this online environment I was able to meet so many other believers to pursue the Lord with and that we are all members of one household, one family. I look forward to pursuing “with those” (2 Timothy 2:22) and being built up together (Ephesians 2:22) with all my fellow believers here at Cal this year!
