Congratulations incoming class of 2023! You guys made it! I hope you’re all excited for some of the most life-changing and impactful years of your life. As a senior who is on his way out, I can really say that my time in college has been the most trying, but also the most rewarding years of my life. However, I can truly testify that my greatest reward has been my spiritual growth in the Lord. The Bible says that God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Heb. 11:6). By seeking Him in college, He has rewarded me with countless wonderful experiences of Him. You may be wondering: can my relationship with God really grow and advance in a place like UC Berkeley? God As The Life-Giving Spirit!

“Last night was our last Fellowship Night of the semester! I was impressed that Jesus is described as One ‘who for the joy set before Him endured the cross’ (Hebrews 12:2). When the Lord died, it was for joy! So what did He see that caused this joy? Well, last night we saw that one part of the joy is that following His death in His resurrection, He ‘became a life-giving Spirit’ (1 Cor. 15:45). God has always had a desire to get into man, and through the process of becoming a man, living a human life, dying on the cross, and resurrecting to become a life-giving Spirit, He is now able to get into whomever is willing to receive Him. As one who had basically zero expectations for this trip, I've really been impressed with how much I've enjoyed this year's Spring break trip. I think I can almost say that out of the three trips I've been on as a member of Christians on Campus, this might be my favorite. Sacramento, Reno, and Idaho aren't necessarily the places I would choose to visit, so I know that much of my enjoyment from this trip has been from the people. Visiting Christians from other locations and seeing their heart for us students has been such a touching time for me and has really encouraged me to go on in my Christian walk.
